We’ve all heard of Rolex and Bulgari, but there are plenty of other high-end watch brands that deserve your attention. Read on to discover the new luxury offerings from these time-tested watchmakers that may become new favorites.
Fine watchmaking meets mixology in Angelus’ new U23 line, inspired by the love of a good cocktail. Available in eight “flavors” such as Vodka Stinger, Tequila Sunrise and Negroni, the watches’ colorful bridges are screwed into a main plate, both of which are made of Carbon Thin Ply material. In this advancement, hundreds of layers of carbon are stacked in successive layers and fused with resin, resulting in a lightweight and hypoallergenic watch.
Rudis Sylva RS14 Titanium
Rudis Sylva its origins date back to 1384, in the heart of the Swiss Jura, the historic cradle of the Swiss watch industry. Bulgari Aluminum Chrono
Considered unorthodox when it launched its line of aluminum timepieces in the 1990s, Bulgari released three high-contrast black and white styles for the season, two three-hand designs and a panda design. The sporty, unisex watches are made from rubber and aluminum, offering a dramatic new update for 2020.
Tockr D-Day C-47
History buffs will find watches with an even richer history in Tockr D-Day C-47 Collection. It has partnered with the Commemorative Air Force to create a series of watches made from aluminum salvaged from “That’s All Brother”, the plane that led the American invasion on D-Day. The brand, known for its aviation watches, worked with watch designer Emmanuel Gueit so that the recovered material could last.
Urwerk UR-100 Gold Edition
For the ultimate collector’s item and conversation starter, look Urwerkthe drawings of. Co-founder Martin Frei, inspired by his father’s science fiction and engineering history, turned to the “Star Wars” Millennial Falcon to design this slim, satellite-geared watch; it’s carved from a solid block of 2N gold, satin-brushed to the sheen of the C-3PO from the film series. The three additional watches are available in mint green, white lacquer and dark gray. They are all equipped with the caliber 2236 movement, an evolution at the cutting edge of watchmaking technology.
